Williamsburg Brooklyn Engagement Photographer | Tess + Brendan

Both originally hailing from Connecticut, Tess and Brendan were first introduced when a mutual friend brought him along to her birthday party a few years ago. In hindsight, this would be the best birthday present she ever received. But it wasn't until they were standing next to each other in the co-ed bathroom line, of all places, that they began to chat. As luck would have it, a first date was to follow. Starting at Brooklyn Bowl, they quickly opted to enjoy the balmy 70 temps with a walking tour of their Williamsburg neighborhood instead, hitting highlights from Maison Premiere to Crown Victoria, Aurora, and the Wythe Rooftop. As if the lengthy duration of their first date wasn't enough to signify a spark, a second date was scheduled for the very next day at the then Brooklyn-based Googa Mooga Food & Music Festival, with a Cape Cod weekend getaway proposal set in May of last year.

With Brooklyn the base for so much of their relationship, it was only fitting that we document their ultra sweet love in their now-native Williamsburg. Launching from one of their first date stops, Aurora, we wandered the neighborhood capturing some of the character that makes it a truly iconic cultural hub: from scattered cherry blossoms framed by shuttered door gates to ivy covered walls, rustic-industrial-chic everything, inspiring street art constantly in flux, and a personal favourite... sunsets over Manhattan with waterfront views from East River Park
