Brooklyn Bridge Park Engagement Photographer | Kristie + Dave

In 2006 a guy from Michigan on summer internship in NYC and a girl from upstate New York studying at NYU stepped onto the same elevator. A few floors and a quick glance later they both proceeded to step off. Later, during a second crossing of paths (this time on the subway), they finally exchanged words acknowledging the serendipity of their back-to-back chance encounters. Nine years, a period of long distance dating between Manhattan and DC, and several moves later they sat at their lake home in September of 2015 when, Kristie recounts, Dave launched into a series of odd behaviors and ultra sentimental words. Little did she know, he was building up to ask her a very special question.

One glance at their engagement photos and it's easy to see that this duo knows how to have a good time. Starting at Brooklyn Bridge Park - with it's sweeping views of the Manhattan and Brooklyn bridges - we wandered past Deborah Kass's "OY/"YO" public art installation, Dumbo's cobblestone streets and St. Ann's Warehouse before winding our way to the boardwalk with telescope access for a closer look across the East River at NYC. Hailing a cab, we made a dash for their nearby home of Carroll Gardens for a few of their favourites: fresh doughy goodness from Mazzola Bakery and drinks at french bistro La Cigogne. With their incredible sense of humor they somehow managed to both create and break the "cute-ometer" scale with their heart-melting sweetness.
