White on White (on white on white)...

I don't know what it is, but lately I'm kind of obsessed with white*.

Maybe it's because it's the colour of marshmallows, and snow bunnies... and really well maintained teeth.

Practically speaking, it's clean, fresh, and has stellar reflective qualities (that's the photographer speaking).

No matter the reason, I can't get enough of it.

So much in fact, that this past weekend I bought two cans of flat white paint and went to town whitewashing half the frames in my home. At first, I said to myself, "I painted all the frames white, which means I'll have to paint the walls half a shade darker of off-white". Clearly.

But then I started holding the frames up to the wall in an attempt to conceptualize the finished product of my wondrous weekend labour, and realized I didn't have to take down all the shelves and haul out the paint cans to create a big messy project in the bedroom, but could in fact hang white on white. And not only that - I kind of loved it!

So, what do you think? Innovative, passé, or just plain old boring? If I've completely fallen off my rocker - please be ::kind:: and alert me to this humbling fact.

* Even the way its spelled - look at it a second. WHITE. No, really look. White. What a cool word! But my obsession with white doesn't stop there! It's been bleeding onto the pages of this very blog - not to mention my latest website design.
