Based in Hoi An during my time in Central Vietnam, I was immersed in a culinary mecca (seriously, Morning Glory and White Rose Dumplings - look them up) offering custom tailoring & frequent full moon lantern festivals. A day excursion to My Son revealed abandoned Hindu temples constructed between the 4th and 14th centuries by kings of Champa. A majority of these temples were later destroyed by American carpet bombs during a single week of the Vietnam war. Venturing north to Da Nang, Easy Rider motorbikes traversed palm farms, fishing villages, Marble Mountain, and Hai Van Pass.
